Sanitary Pad Distribution

Biodegradable & Reusable Sanitary Pad Distribution

Women and girls in our project area suffer from health problems related to menstrual periods and hygiene. They are unable to get sanitary pads from the market due to their poor economic condition or their carelessness and ignorance towards their health and safety. Young girls also leave their college and school during periods, which also leads to the loss of their studies. Most women depend on old clothes or any dirty piece of cloth which is not safe to use. Keeping all this in mind, Pavitramanthe distributed sanitary pads to all the beneficiaries in local villages and schools and trained them about their safe use and disposal. We also make them aware of the harmful diseases caused due to neglect of safe menstruation and the ways to prevent those diseases.

These pads are better than other pads as they can be used for one year after washing and drying. Biodegradable sanitary pads are considered better than normal pads in terms of their environmental impact. Ordinary pads are usually made from non-biodegradable materials like plastic and can take hundreds of years to decompose, affecting the environment. Biodegradable sanitary pads are a more eco-friendly and healthier option for women, but it’s important to choose a high-quality product that provides both comfort and protection.

To solve this problem, Pavitramenthe conducted a free pad distribution campaign on 15/04/2023. In this campaign, we distributed 300+ free pads in 3 villages Kanjua, Karkatpur, and Oya, in which FFL Coordinator Ishu Pathak and General Manager Deepika Agarwal cooperated and made this project successful.
